I am concerned about his arts and the fact is that the man is a great artist. I do not use this title for too many people and I have evidence for my claim.

Modiri started his thoughtful comedies as a young graduate from the cinematic arts in the year after the Iraq war and in those somber days when joviality was rare, he injected soft laughter and playful mirth into the veins of the then mournful populace of Iran.

I can never forget how surprised I was to see his early comedies twenty years ago in the Iranian TV. His short satiric and well played comedies reminded me of the skillful acting of Harold Lloyd and Charlie Chaplin, rendered in a local style.

Later on I learned that the man was a learned cinematographer with lots of reading and studies in the professional field.
