Leo Huberman (October 17, 1903 – November 9, 1968) was an American socialist economist.
I was born in Newark, New Jersey, on October 17, , the last but one of eleven children, of whom six died before my birth.
In 1949 he founded and co-edited Monthly Review with Paul Sweezy.[1] He was the chair of the Department of Social Science at New College, Columbia University; labor editor of the newspaper PM; and the author of the popular history books Man’s Worldly Goods and We, the People: The Drama of America.[2]
Life
The next-to-youngest of eleven children of Joseph and Fannie Kramerman-Huberman he was born and grew up in Newark, New Jersey.
Six of his siblings died in infancy. From the age of eleven he studied at Newark State School, a
